The process of risk assessment and risk management is all about creating the right environment for girls to develop. Our proactive risk approach means that we are driven be what we can do not what we can’t do. Our insurers are very supportive of this ‘can do’ approach to our activities.  Leaders are encouraged to ask the State Office the question ‘can we do this activity?’ if it is not listed as an approved activity.

Parents will want to see that risk management has a high priority in Guiding, so encourage your Leaders to tell parents what steps are taken when there are appropriate opportunities.  The Support Groups should always be aware of any moderate or high risks, and keeping them abreast of risks may help to galvanise their support.
