Fact Sheet

The Girl Guides Australia (GGA) Fact Sheet: Introduction to Girl Guiding in Australia – a Child Safe Child Friendly Community provides basic and introductory information about Girl Guiding in Australia (GGiA) and the GGA Child Safe Child Friendly Policy. The Fact Sheet will support those not involved with Girl Guiding understand the terminology used in the Girl Guides Australia Child Safe Child Friendly Policy.

Parent/Carer Resource

The Child Safe Child Friendly Parent and Carer Resource offers a snapshot of our Girl Guides Australia Child Safe Child Friendly Framework.  It outlines our national policies and guidelines and provides examples of how these are put into practice – how we turn words into action.  It could be useful for parents and carers of new Guides and for those about to go on their first Camp or off-site Guiding Activity. 

CSCF Activity Pack – Leader Resource

The CSCF Activity Pack – Leader Resource has five child safe activities (with instructions and materials) for Leaders and Girl Guides to explore.

The activities begin with developing Unit and Camp rules and helping Guides recognise when feeling safe or taking safe risks might become unsafe – in Guiding and in life.  There is then an activity to help Guides name a handful of trusted adults they can go to for support and another to create a plan for what to do in an unsafe situation.

We would encourage all Leaders to run the activities with their Guides on a regular basis.
