Articulating the role Guiding plays in the lives of girls and young women is a focus of public relations and advocacy activity at State and national level. Girl Guides Australia has developed a number of position statements that provide a foundation for our advocacy work.

Managers should note that as Girl Guides Australia and our members are charities we need to comply with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission guidelines on lobbying and advocacy. These can be found on the ACNC website here.

To assist Managers to make decisions about what issues to advocate on at the local level and what organisations are positive to partner with, GGA developed a “Framework for Social Partnerships” which is also available on the GGA website here.
