  • Recipients of this Award show they have provided sustained intensive levels of good service to National Guiding.
  • Their work has resulted in tangible levels of support being provided across all states and territories or GGA at the strategic level.
  • They are a role model for the whole of Girl Guiding nationally and their Promise and Law and Code of Conduct have been tested across all facets of GGA.
  • Their support aligns to the Mission and Vision of GGA and the achievement of the Strategic Plan.
  • They significantly develop the capacity and capability of Girl Guiding and grow GGA through the transformational change that they lead.
  • Those recognised with the Red Kangaroo Award are a role model to Guides, volunteers and the local community, consistently living the Promise and Law and abiding by the Code of Conduct.
Who can make the nomination for an adult member to receive this award?

Any Adult Member of a State Girl Guide Organisation or an individual member of Girl Guides Australia.

Who can approve this nomination?

The relevant Manager, Chairperson, or Commissioner of the nominee who has the most relevant and recent knowledge and awareness of their skill and capacity and the work in the nomination

Who assesses the nomination?

Australian Awards Committee

Who approves the award

Approval will be through the Australian HR Committee with endorsement from the Board of GGA.
